Advanced tracking statistics are only available if you have enabled the advanced tracking module for your site and defined custom events for modifications.

You can view and export advanced tracking statistics for a modification in the Frosmo Control Panel.

For information about viewing and exporting basic statistics, see Basic modification statistics.

Introduction to advanced tracking

Counting only one click, display, and true display per page load may not always be enough to analyze the performance of a modification. What if you want to track all the true displays for the modification? What if the modification contains multiple clickable parts and you want to track their clicks separately? What if you want to track something other than basic events?

This is where advanced tracking comes in.

Advanced tracking allows you to define custom events to track for a modification. The tracking is variation-specific: If the modification contains multiple variations, a custom event is tracked for each variation separately. Custom events can basically be about anything that you can do with or change in a modification. For example, you might want to track:

  • All true display for a modification as the visitor scrolls back and forth across the page
  • Clicks per clickable element in a modification, to see what gets the most or least clicks
  • How many times visitors purchased a recommended product after seeing it in a modification
  • Product with the highest CTR in a recommendation modification
  • Visitor journey through a funnel of modifications

To track custom events on your site, the advanced tracking module must be enabled for the site. The tracking itself is implemented in your site's custom code or in modification content, typically by a Frosmo developer, after which you can view and export the tracking statistics in the Control Panel. For more information about enabling and implementing advanced tracking, see Tracking custom events.

The event counts are tracked separately for each variation. The total counts by event are listed at the bottom of the table.

The statistics show a maximum of 50 custom events for the selected time period. If the variations together have more than 50 events, the statistics show the 50 events with the highest counts.

The following figures show the same statistics calculated based on total and unique visitor counts, respectively.
