You can perform the following tasks on a recommendation:

Editing a recommendation configuration

To edit a recommendation configuration:

  1. In the Control Panel, select Data Management > Recommendations > Configurations.
  2. Find the recommendation whose configuration you want to edit, and click its name.

  3. In the code editor, edit the recommendation configuration. For more information about the configuration, see Creating recommendations.
  4. Click Save.
  5. To return to the list of recommendations, click Cancel.

The Frosmo Platform does not immediately queue the updated recommendation for processing. Instead, the platform will follow the generation frequency defined in the recommendation configuration. If you want to schedule the recommendation data for immediate generation, see Generating the recommendation data.

Removing a recommendation

Removing a recommendation deletes both the recommendation configuration and all associated recommendation data from the Frosmo back end. Any modification that uses the data will no longer have access to it.

To remove a recommendation:

  1. In the Control Panel, select Data Management > Recommendations > Configurations.
  2. Click the quick menu button for the recommendation you want to remove, and select Remove.

  3. In the confirmation prompt, click Remove.

Generating the recommendation data

You can manually queue a recommendation for processing instead of waiting for the next scheduled generation point based on the frequency defined in the recommendation configuration.

To manually generate the data for a recommendation:

  1. In the Control Panel, select Data Management > Recommendations > Configurations.
  2. Click the quick menu button for the recommendation whose data you want to generate, and select Generate.

  3. To track the generation progress, check the recommendation status. For more information about the status, see Creating recommendations.

Viewing the recommendation data

You can view the latest data generated for a recommendation. The data is in the JSON format.

To view the data for a recommendation:

  1. In the Control Panel, select Data Management > Recommendations > Configurations.
  2. Click the quick menu button for the recommendation whose data you want to view, and select Preview.

  3. If your recommendation type is bundle_viewed, bundle_converted, or bundle_viewed_converted, define a product ID in the request URL, since the returned data is product-specific.

  4. If your recommendation type is most_viewed or most_converted, and if you've defined request parameters for the recommendation, you can filter the results by defining values for those parameters in the request URL.

Checking how long it took to generate the recommendation data

To check how long it took to generate the data for a recommendation:

  1. In the Control Panel, select Data Management > Recommendations > Configurations.
  2. Click the row of the recommendation whose generation time you want to check.
  3. Check the time field. The time is presented in whatever unit (seconds, minutes, hours, and so on) provides the closest approximation of the actual number of seconds it took to generate the data. For example, 30 seconds is displayed as "30 seconds", while 50 seconds is displayed as "a minute". If the generation takes 44 seconds or less, the time is displayed as "a few seconds".
